Aging...It's everyone's future. Talk about a tagline with a wakeup call! The Council on Aging provides support services and referrals for older adults as well as their families and caregivers. Wendy Marsh, executive director, and her staff, actively manage requests for needs such as transportation, dining and activity centers, personal safety systems, tax assistance, home repairs, in-home aides and caregiver support. In 2007, they assisted more than 4,500 older adults and their caregivers. As you can imagine, there are a lot of ways that volunteers can help. The Call-a-Ride program has the most critical on-going need, or you can deliver food, make phone calls, do lawn and garden work or help with Medicare or insurance questions.
